Intel Core Duo 1.2Ghz 1GB DDR2 30GB Hdd Windows XP Pro Loaded with COA 3 Month Return to Base Warranty

As one might expect, the D420 looks like a small D620 - it looks like Dell is keen to keep the same styling across various models, much like the IBM ThinkPads. There's definitely nothing wrong with the Latitude styling - the matt sliver and black finish has a minimalist look to it that should please the corporate masses. It's also pretty light at 1.49kg with the standard battery, while even with the extended battery attached, the D420 only weighs in at 1.67kg. With dimensions of 294 x 210 x 25mm (WxDxH) it's not too big either

Perfect, but came with a virus/worm...

Laptop is just what I wanted - bit scruffy on the case, but once open fine - so no complaints... apart from, Windows couldn't update windows, run (or connect to) any antivirus website (even the AVG which was pre-installed). Eventually established laptop has been infected with a worm (nothing I had done, as the first thing I did when I got it out of the box was to try and do a windows update and set up anti virus, which alerted me to the problem). Several hours of searching the net finally found a malware program to clear the "worm" to enable antivirus to be installed (which then found several others). In all, happy with laptop, perfect for my needs, disappointed that a (presumably) new install of Windows was done so with a virus.
